About Jenn

I am a Kentucky bred designer with a passion for culture and the outdoors. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Murray State University and was involved in several campus organizations. I had ambitious goals from the start to learn and apply as many skills as possible to be a versatile teammate and leader in the creative industry. I have sat in many roles throughout my career and an active member with AIGA for networking and growth.

I received the Shining Star Award by my leader at Humana for my efforts in leading new initiatives and driving new vendor relationships. I am currently pursuing human experience design and helping my team create better products in the digital and environmental space.

Looking through my portfolio, you’ll see my aesthetic shine through. My sleek, subtle and sophisticated approach helps keep my process clean and consistent. I am always looking to fellow artists and nature for inspiration. I enjoy expanding past my comfort zone and look for projects that challenge me and push me towards exciting and innovative human-centered solutions.

Branding + Web design
Art direction, Design

This client approached me with an identity crisis. A branding identity crisis, that is. They were targeting high-end law firms to expand their business and needed to move quickly to generate more revenue. By using geometric patterns, a bold color palette found in the construction industry and sleek design, I created a brand they were proud of and provided a quick guide on how to use their new assets.

Once the branding was approved, I worked with my clients to create an accessible website so that the customer could have a high level understanding of Midsouth Accident Reconstruction (MAR) and quickly navigate to book their services. To promote the website, I developed an interactive brochure with more information that was sent out in e-blasts. Their stationary needed to be editable so I built their letterhead in a Microsoft Word template so they could swap out content and variable data easily. We are currently exploring different platforms such as Templafy in the future as the company grows.

Billboard + Ad Campaign
Template design

Our Community Hospital division at ScionHealth reached out to our team and needed a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign built, including Out of Home (OOH). I quickly got to work and used their unique “That’s why we’re here” slogan and found appropriate lifestyle imagery and color palette to compliment their brand. Once this particular campaign was built, this was used as the template for all 17 of our community hospitals.

Digital and Print Campaign
Branded Family assets

Our Specialty Hospital division at ScionHealth was in need of building out a cohesive campaign to showcase their numerous patients’ success stories for each of the Kindred Hospitals. Working with the Creative Director and Marketing Director, I developed a versatile template system for our creative team’s use as well as building it out in Microsoft Word so the field could easily transfer content and logos as needed. This system contains social media headers and posts, and printed flyers and posters for the custom facility.

National Hiring Event Campaign
Digital Template design

Our Recruitment Marketing division at ScionHealth has four annual hiring events. This includes medical backgrounds ranging from nursing to physicians. Once I created this evergreen campaign, we saw an increase of 53% in registration and attendance year over year. This was a very successful campaign to say the least, and it was inspiring to work on with this team.

Event signage
Research, Design, Illustration

A local theatre came to me needing a poster to promote an upcoming production of “The Last Five Years.” I quickly turned to research the play. After learning about its particular plot line and the melancholy tone, I chose to go with a cool color palette that still represented the happier moments of the production.

The stage manager was extremely pleased with this design and how I could showcase the sponsors at the bottom. This was such a fun passion project for me and to be able to help promote an event in my community.

Web proposal presentation
Illustration, Design

I had the amazing opportunity to develop a web proposal for Young & Rubicam. I worked closely with the Creative Director to show the data from the traveler’s perspective for Double Tree using infographics, custom illustrations and photography. This was an exciting project as it showcased the new rebrand for Y&R. They were extremely pleased and the team renewed the Double Tree contract.

Brand concept
Design

The Highland Parks and Recreation Department in Chicago were in need of concepts for their new Rosewood Interpretive Center. I was given the task of transforming the name into a brand that families could be comfortable with and learn about Lake Michigan’s eco system. I am an environmentalist at heart and decided to use the water molecule as my focal inspiration. After all, water is the primary building block of life. I used monochromatic earth tones to keep in theme with the surrounding environment so it would compliment the stunning panoramic view of Lake Michigan as visitors walked through the center.

Annual report
Illustration, Design

The Journey Church was in need of their annual report to be easily digestible for their members. Jennifer offered to create the report and worked closely with their marketing team to send the right message out and stay on brand. They allowed Jennifer creative freedom and she broke out the information into color blocked sections to better depict the information in this large e-publication.

Mobile website restructure
Art direction, website UI/UX design

This fun and quirky instructional design client came to me needing a complete website overhaul. NotAnotherBrittany.com was extremely content heavy, overwhelming and not accessible. The client provided an initial brief and I gladly tackled the daunting task of providing feedback and due to a tight turn around, immediately jumped into lo-fi prototyping. I did sketch a few ideas on paper, and after thoroughly reading through the site’s infrastructure was able to lay out a simple journey map.

  • The client and I had a few brief meetings just to touch base and ensure the project was staying on track. Content had already been created, so my primary focus was to create the initial UI design and functional elements and then send to the developer. I provided the files and further instructions for the developer to make it as seamless of a hand-off as possible.

She and I bonded over coffee, Florida and instructional design. It has been a pleasure to work with this client thus far and can’t wait for our slated projects later this year to kick off.

This was considered phase 1 and phase 2 is currently being worked on while analytics and heat mapping results will be included in phase 2.
    Stay tuned!

  • Notanotherbrittany.com needed a complete overhaul to categorize a content heavy site for this instructional course client. Overall, the new
UI and functionality will draw new clients in and drive revenue.

Mobile setting feature for left-handed people
User research, UX testing, UI Design

I am a lefty and have faced a few struggles because of this through out my life. I recently created a poll to see how many of those in my network would benefit from left-handed products. The response drew the attention needed to proceed with developing a survey. I also created a paper prototype and provided a screen recording. I am currently working through the interface and experience using XD.

This would be a settings feature, similar to Light/Dark mode, that you can switch on/off and stack your apps to wherever your thumb rests to scroll. This could also benefit those with mobility issues such as arthritis and will be available for our right-handed friends as well. Exciting things to come on this one!

Let’s connect!
